This week Bryan sits down with the Publisher of one of Alabama's few remaining local news publications that has kept its integrity intact. Scott Buttram is the Publisher of the Trussville Tribune, a local publication that serves a much greater area than just Trussville. Scott and Bryan discuss the history of how news publications went south after the loss of major advertising revenue and the effect that has had on our state and nation, as well as how he was able to thrive despite the decline in the industry.
Behind the Scenes this week is a no holds barred analysis of the legislative session and Alabama politics in general. Scott has a reputation for pulling no punches on his Twitter account and we bring that lively discussion to podcast form.

Sergeant Noah Galloway, a Birmingham, Alabama native, is the personification of valor and resilience. This Purple Heart awarded, double amputee decided to join the military as a result of the September 11th terror attacks. However, his battles didn’t end in the field when he was forced to adapt to a life with only two limbs after an IED attack during Operation Iraqi Freedom which would take his left leg above the knee and his left arm above the elbow. Noah’s incredible journey to mental and physical wellness is one that he shares in his memoir titled Living with No Excuses; the Remarkable Rebirth of an American Soldier. Those words, “No Excuses,” became Noah’s mantra, as he rose out of a post trauma depression via his reinvigorating passion for fitness. To join the fight and become an 1819 News Member and have access to all of our behind the scenes content, click here:https://1819news.com/membership

Every so often we want to hear a pastor speak into the cultural issues of the day and tell us what we should be doing in the current cultural moment. Pastor RIch Lusk joins Bryan to discuss in depth the three spheres of government outlined in the Scriptures and how Christians should be interacting in each.
They define what separation of Church and State actually means and how that doesn't keep God out of government, and finally they dive into the biblical roots of the American legal system. Behind The Scenes: There has been a ton of talk on Twitter about Christian Nationalism, what it is and what it is not.
Bryan and Pastor Rich hit the taboo topic head on and provide helpful categories to think through and define terms rather than strawman arguments.

This week Bryan sits down with Pastor Brian Sauve, who happens to be a recording artist as well, to discuss why conservatives and Christians miss the mark so often in music and media.
They discuss Sauve's new album release, Even Dragons Shall Him Praise, that beat Lauren Daigle and Taylor Swift for April streams and downloads. They talk about his unique approach to Christian music as well as the need for our side to tell stories better.
The Behind The Scenes segment is a discussion of whether Conservatism is possible without Christ at the center? Sauve suggests that the modern conservative movement is borrowing from capital that Christians created for centuries and the fact that that capital is running out fast.
